What is the YMCA Special Needs Inclusive Challenge about?

The YMCA Inclusive Climb saw 10 special needs climbers challenge Mt Fuji in 2019. This year, you will join them in doing the same – but right here from Singapore! Using the STRAVA app, participants' elevation gain or distance will be recorded and measured, contributing virtually to a goal of summitting or journeying around Mt Fuji.

Is the STRAVA App free?

The STRAVA App is completely free to download and use. However, to join the YMCA Inclusive Challenge, which raises funds to support persons with special needs, a one-time registration fee of $50 is required.

Is there an age limit to join?

All are welcome to join us! Children are welcome to take part but should be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. For seniors, please ensure you are medically and physically fit and take the challenge at your own pace, taking every safety and health precaution appropriate.

Can I join with a friend?

Yes! The YMCA Inclusive Challenge is all about doing this together. You and your friends may register as a team and accumulate elevation towards a goal, making this a team effort.

What if I fail to complete 3,776m or 120km?

The YMCA Inclusive Challenge is about doing your best to reach new heights. It is not a competition but an awareness and fundraising activity done in support of persons with special needs. If you fail to complete, we celebrate your valiant attempt and thank you for joining us regardless.

When is the YMCA Special Needs Inclusive Challenge?

The challenge will begin on 4 June to 31 August 2022. You may join at any time before 31 August, but progress will only be measured up to the end date.

May I withdraw from the YMCA Inclusive Challenge?

We highly encourage all participants to do what they can even if the full distance seems improbable. Participants may stop at any stage of the challenge with no penalty, but registration fee is strictly non-refundable.

Can I sign up more than once to join different teams?

This is not encouraged. Every STRAVA account has their own unique ID hence you will not be able to link the same STRAVA account to two different profiles.

Is there a limit to the number of participants in a team?

You may sign up to participate as an individual or in a team of five.

What should I do after registration?

  • Download STRAVA app and link to YMCA Special Needs Inclusive Challenge
  • During race period (4 June to 31 August 2022), sync your activities from STRAVA
  • Show your support by sharing your profile

What are the race entitlements?

You can refer to the Challenge Details here.

When will I receive my race entitlements and completion certificate?

Race entitlements will be delivered to you within 2-3 weeks upon registration. The e-certificate will be available for download after 31 August 2022. More information will be released closer to date.

Can I change my category once I have registered?

Once you have registered, you will not be able to change your goal. We highly encourage participants to do what they can in support of persons with special needs.

How do I get my login details to edit my profile?

Once you have registered, a confirmation email with your account password will be sent to you. Please check your junk mail folder as well.

I did not receive my login details, what do I do now?

If you do not receive the confirmation email within a few minutes of signing up, please check your junk mail folder just in case the confirmation email got delivered there instead of your Inbox. If so, select the confirmation email and click Not Spam, which will allow future emails from us to get through.

If you did not receive an email from us, please email and we will get back to you within 3-4 working days.

The distance recorded by STRAVA is inaccurate. Can you add in the missing distance?

We are not able to edit the details recorded by STRAVA. We advise participants to ensure that their GPS signal is strong throughout their activity.

How do I check the donation amount I have raised?

You may check by visiting your personal fundraising campaign on Please click here to log in to your account, and click on 'My Campaigns'. Select the fundraising campaign you wish to view and you can see the number of supporters you have and the donation amount your supporters have contributed to date.

How do I make a donation to support a participant?

You may donate to support a participant's individual fundraising campaign on by visiting here and clicking on 'Our Campaigns'. You may also choose to pen a short encouragement message to the participant to share his/her fundraising campaign on your social media (e.g. on Facebook/ Instagram).
